Seed wheat demand is high across the Midwest this year and with the
floods to the north and the drought to the south, the supply of high
quality certified seed is limited. We are offering four variety
choices this year, all of which had excellent years and are disease and
weed seed free. Be sure to get your seed booked early this year as

McGill (formerly NE01481) is a hard red winter wheat released to seed
growers in 2010 and is available for the first time in 2011. It was
released primarily for its superior adaptation to rainfed production
systems in eastern and southwest Nebraska and for its excellent
resistance to wheat soilborne mosaic.

Top yielding NE public variety at Lancaster Co. 2011 trials (80.4 bu/acre),
3rd at Clay Center (2011 trial)

Semidwarf with a medium coleoptile length.
·
Moderately early in maturity.

Slightly shorter than Overland.

Moderately susceptible to susceptible to stripe rust and moderately
resistant to leaf rust.
